前回に続きまして、美術作家 植田志保さんの個展 接触の、接触というテーマに添えた文章です。

接触という現象は、抽象的で刺激的で、人間にとって本質的な内外の関わりの意味も含まれており、まさしく今の植田さんそのものが掴んだテーマであると感じました。

接触というテーマに添えて

他者と接触する時、私たちは、日常的な社会生活の中で様々な混乱を体験します。

それは、言葉の定義と同じく、物理的な意味と精神的な意味の違いがあるためかもしれません。接触という言葉は、物理的には、お互いに触れ合う接点があることを示します。しかし、人の心や文化、歴史、自分自身などが対象となる精神的な意味としては、接点自体よりもむしろその境界線を超え、お互いが混ざり合って干渉し、その結果として何がしかのうごめきや変化があるような、新しい広がりを含めた意味を持ちます。

他者との関わりの中でのふとした物理的な接触が、精神的な接触にどの程度迫っていたかと思いを馳せると、接触以前の時空間にすら特別な色彩が浮かび上がってきます。接触後にあれこれと想起しコミュニケーションが変化していくことも含めれば、私たちにとって接触がもたらす内外への影響は甚大です。

また、幾多の外界との接触が蓄積されると、同時に自分自身の内界との接触も次第に深みを増していきます。新しい視点でより可能性の開かれた外界と接触することと、より多く、より深く自分の内界に接触していくことは、繊細かつダイナミックな接触の作用が幾重にも積み重ねられた結果とも言えるでしょう。

今まで知らなかった植田志保の掴む世界との、そしてあなた自身との接触を問いかける作品群が展示されています。

Added to Shiho Ueda exhibition Contact

In our daily life, confusion often occurs when we contact with others.

It may be because meaning of contact has physical and mental aspect. When we contact physically, it means that it has point of contact. However, when we say we contact with each other mentally, it means interference and mixture, rather than just a point of contact, effecting a change in our minds.

Imagining how much physical contact approaches mental contact, there emerges subtle color even in time and space before the contact. Series of communication must operate on a person’s attitude, therefore contact influences our recognition to the outside and inner world much more than we imagine.

Moreover, accumulation of good many contacts with others, it deepens the connection to our inner world. It may results from sensitive and dynamic effect of contact. 

 

The texture, flow, and effect of contact are the key of this exhibition.

May this exhibition be a clue to the contact with the world Shiho Ueda grasping, and with your inner world.
